Entrepreneurship projects

I am currently working on a startup named AIwhere, which I initiated as part of my deep involvement in telecommunications and AI research. AIwhere is focused on developing technology primarily for satellites but applicable to space in general. We aim to leverage the capabilities of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) on satellites for multiple purposes, including communications and sensing, and to make these capabilities available on demand through virtualization, along with an O-RAN architecture. Additionally, we are working to achieve orchestration with terrestrial cloud to maximize the use of AI both on board with lighter models and on earth with digital twins. It is important to note that AIwhere is in its pre-initial phase and not yet fully developed.

This venture emerged from my doctoral research at the University of Malaga, where I focused on AI-driven Mobile Network Management and the optimization of next-gen cellular networks. The idea for AIwhere was recognized with an award at the UMA Spinoff Awards 2023, providing both validation and financial support for its innovative approach to ensuring reliable and adaptive communications for critical applications. Since winning this award, I’ve advanced AIwhere by leveraging my research and expertise in deep tech, including participation in the BMoE program at Berkeley, where as part of team Helio8, we secured second place in our category.

Currently, as a postdoc in the USA, I am actively seeking partners and investors to further develop AIwhere. My goal is to capitalize on AIwhere’s potential in various use cases, such as drone-mounted systems, space communications (with SDR virtualization adapted for space), and robotics, among others, especially in challenging environments where AI-driven wireless technology can significantly improve security, reliability, and performance.
